About Leslie Bynoe

Leslie Bynoe has been training in the Linjitsu Karate system for the past 30 years. He has also practiced and gained knowledge in Olympic-Style Wrestling and Submission Wrestling since 2007. Mr. Bynoe currently holds a 3rd degree Black belt in Linjitsu Karate, and an international coaching qualification for Wrestling. He has engaged in both competitively.

Leslie maintains his rank in Karate by training consistently, and he also participates in refresher courses in Wrestling. He is constantly trying to improve his general knowledge, physical skills, and nutrition. He also stays current with his training by reading and watching material on the relevant subject areas and working them out with selected people. Martial arts has impacted his life in many ways, including building his self confidence, his self defense capabilities, and his resilience.

Mr. Bynoe approaches training with patience, always trying to find new ways to reach the goals of his clients and students. With Young Dragons Combat Sports, he aims to expose the Linjitsu Karate system to students at the primary level because this system will help them develop in the following ways:

  • improving overall fitness, strength, flexibility, balance, coordination and reflexes
  • building practical self defense awareness and controlled responses under pressure
  • developing focus, discipline, respect, patience and emotional self-control
  • boosting confidence as students master techniques
  • providing stress relief and personal growth

Leslie maintains a safe training environment by paying attention to students’ awareness of their instructions, especially when they are learning new skills; and pairing skill levels with similar skill levels as much as possible (same with height, weight, and age).

He overall philosophy about the training is:

“Work hard at the skills, keep learning, stay humble. Use what works until it doesn’t. “
